Residue Wax (Foots Oil)

Residue wax, commonly referred to as foots oil, is the final remaining product obtained from slack wax after the pressing and decolorizing processes. Foots oil is a mixture of oil and slack wax. It is a byproduct of the production of semi-refined paraffin wax and constitutes nearly 60% of the total output derived from 100% of the slacks provided by oil refineries.

Uses of Residue Wax (Foots Oil)

Properties of Foots Oil

Foots oil is solid at room temperature and begins to melt at temperatures above 40-60 degrees Celsius. It typically has a flash point of around 250°C and an initial boiling point above 280°C. While not considered flammable according to UN GHS criteria, it is combustible. Foots oil is neither self-reactive nor self-heating and does not undergo exothermic decomposition when heated. However, it should be stored separately from oxidizing substances due to possible reactions.

Packing of Foots Oil

Foots oil is typically packed in steel drums, which can be either new or used, to prevent any leakage during transportation. It is recommended to store foots oil at temperatures not exceeding 50 degrees Celsius.

Guarantee/Warranty of Foots Oil

BITUPLUS provides a guarantee of the quality of foots oil through the involvement of international inspectors who oversee the quality and quantity of the product during loading onto vessels. Quality control is further ensured through batch test reports before shipping, ensuring that the quality meets ASTM standards.
