BituPlus Bitumen Emulsion MS-2K/CMS-2 is a medium-setting emulsion containing a minimum of 65% bitumen. This specially designed water-based Bitumen Emulsion offers moderate viscosity and setting time, making it ideal for premixing applications. It exhibits a chocolate-brown color and flows freely at ambient temperature. The cationic bitumen emulsion MS-2K (Tack coat) is formulated in compliance with the Malaysian Standard, MS 1.61 (1994).

Applications:

BituPlus Bitumen Emulsion CMS-2 is well-suited for Patch Repairing and Pot Hole Repairing. Below are the detailed application instructions:

Procedure:

1. Remove water and debris from the pothole.
2. Cut the damaged area into rectangular shapes with vertical sides.
3. Remove any loose material.
4. Apply a track coat of asphalt emulsion to all sides and the bottom of the pothole.
5. Prepare a mixture of clean (preferably washed) and dry aggregates with HPCPL MS cationic bitumen emulsion.
6. Typically, use 13.2 mm and 11.2 mm sized aggregates in a 2:1 ratio.
7. An approximate content of 7% by weight of aggregates with HPCPL MS cationic bitumen emulsion works best.
8. Mix the aggregates and emulsion thoroughly to ensure a good and uniform coating.
9. Mix until the entire emulsion turns black in color.
10. Fill the premix immediately into the pothole, slightly higher than the adjoining road surface, and roll it properly.
11. Open the repaired pothole to traffic as soon as workers and equipment are clear.
12. For economical and fast construction of a wearing course, emulsion is used for Premix Carpet.

Recommended rate of application:

The typical rate of application for BituPlus Bitumen Emulsion MS for Patch Repairing/Pot Hole Repairing is 7% by weight of aggregates.

Tack Coat MS-2K / CMS-2 cationic bitumen emulsion can be applied at ambient temperature at a spray rate of 0.25 to 0.70 liters per square meter (0.05 to 0.15 gallons per square yard).
