Bituseal Primer

Product Description:

Bituseal Primer is a specially formulated solvent-based steel primer designed to provide excellent adhesion and complete compatibility with Bituseal Enamel.

Application:

This primer is ready for use upon delivery (after stirring) and can be applied to clean, grit-blasted steel pipes through spraying or brushing. For typical thicknesses, with a dry film thickness of 20-30μm and a wet film thickness of 100μm, the primer provides a coverage rate of 10 m2 per liter. The wet film thickness can be adjusted within ±20μm, resulting in a dry film thickness variation of 5μm. Under normal ventilation and at an ambient temperature of 25°C, the drying time during application can range from 5-12 minutes, depending on the pipe temperature. It is recommended that the pipe temperature during application be between 10-50°C and at least 3°C above the dew point.

Storage:

Bituseal Primer should be hermetically sealed and stored within a temperature range of 5°C to a maximum of 30°C. When stored under these conditions, the product has a shelf life of one year.

Standards:

Bituseal Primer complies with or exceeds all the requirements outlined in EN 10300, type 2.
