GT550 Outer-Wrap
Product Description:
GT550 Outer-Wrap is a bitumen-impregnated non-woven glass fiber reinforced fabric designed to provide optimal protection for the fibers and facilitate enamel bleed-through. This product is precisely manufactured with a specific level of porosity to enhance adhesion between the outer-wrap and enamel.
GT550 consists of a uniform fabric made from chemically resistant borosilicate glass, longitudinally reinforced with continuous filament glass yarns spaced at 8-10 mm intervals. This type of outer-wrap is suitable for use in various soil conditions.
Application:
In the coating system, Bitumen Enamel is applied to steel pipes that have been previously primed with Synthetic Primer at a temperature between 215-230°C. Typically, one or two layers of inner-wrap and one layer of GT550 Outer-Wrap are used in this process.
Storage:
GT550 Outer-Wrap should be stored in an upright position on a dry surface. Direct exposure to sunlight should be avoided, and the maximum storage height should not exceed 2.50 meters.
Standards:
GT550 Outer-Wrap meets and exceeds the requirements for outer-wraps outlined in EN 10300, type B, and AWWA C 203.
Quality Control:
All raw materials used in the production of GT550 undergo rigorous testing and approval in the laboratories of BITUPLUS BITUMEN Co. The quality of the finished outer-wrap is closely monitored in accordance with relevant standards or customer-specific requirements, and a test certificate is provided for each batch produced.
