Bituseal Outer Wrap

Product Description:

Bituseal Outer Wrap is a semi-woven fabric reinforced with glass fibers and impregnated with a polymer-modified bitumen. This impregnation process is essential for optimal protection of the fibers and controlled bleed-through during the pipe coating process. Bituseal Outer Wrap is available in two versions: Standard and Heavy Duty, designed to meet the specific requirements of customers. The product is manufactured with precise porosity control to ensure effective adhesion between the outer wrap and the enamel coating. It consists of a laminate structure that combines a strong glass fabric bonded to a lightweight glass/polyester tissue. The fabric includes both longitudinal and transverse reinforcing threads, making it suitable for a wide range of soil conditions.

Application:

Bituseal Enamel is applied to steel pipes that have been previously primed with Bituseal Primer at temperatures ranging from 190°C to 230°C, using computer-controlled extrusion technology to achieve optimal coating quality. Bituseal Outer Wrap is applied over the still hot and liquid Bituseal Enamel. During application, care should be taken to avoid folds and air pockets to ensure proper adhesion to the underlying enamel.

Storage:

Bituseal Outer Wrap should be stored upright on a dry surface, shielded from direct sunlight. The maximum allowable storage height is 2.50 meters.

Standards:

Bituseal Outer Wrap meets or exceeds all international specifications for bitumen-based pipeline coatings and complies with the requirements for outer wraps outlined in EN 10300, Type F.

Bituseal Coatings:

Bituseal Outer Wrap is suitable for pipelines operating within a temperature range of -20°C to 90°C, delivering a highly protective coating with excellent in-service performance. It is environmentally safe and contains no harmful components.
